The sun shines on your roof, solar panels produce electricity, and your electricity bills are getting smaller. Many owners of solar power plants have become convinced that solar power plants are a smart and profitable investment that brings big savings on electricity bills and reduces dependence on fluctuations in electricity prices. And while panels are increasingly common on the roofs of houses in Croatia, the next step in the energy transition is battery energy storage systems. They make solar power even more profitable because they allow you to use the energy produced during the day at night, or when you need it most.
Batteries allow every kilowatt-hour of solar energy produced to be truly used and are actually an additional incentive for investments in solar power because they enable their maximum utilization. Given that energy consumption at the point of consumption is also encouraged at the EU level, which is why the netting system was abolished in Croatia as of January 1, 2026, batteries are becoming a key step towards household energy independence.
