Zagreb, May 23, 2025 – Greencajt, the largest regional sustainability conference, was held at Pavilion 13 of the Zagreb Fair from May 21 to 23, 2025, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the City of Zagreb. This year, under the motto “Neither Black/Nor White,” the conference brought together numerous domestic and international experts who discussed challenges and solutions for a sustainable future through lectures and panels. ENNA Group once again supported the conference.

On the second day of Greencajt, Tomislav Bunjevac, a member of the Management Board of ENNA Next, participated in the panel discussion titled “Mission to Reduce Emissions.” Other panelists included Tihana Vranković, Marketing & Sales Manager at Holcim, Mirsada Kudrić, General Manager for Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina at Robert Bosch Hrvatska, and Zvjezdana Sirk Novak, Regional Communications Director at JYSK. The panel was moderated by journalist Igor Bobić.

At the beginning of the panel, Tomislav Bunjevac introduced ENNA Next and the sustainability initiatives of the ENNA Group to the fellow panelists and the audience.

“ENNA Next is a leading company in the Croatian market for the construction of renewable energy sources. In addition, a significant part of our operations is in electricity trading. Currently, 80% of the electricity we trade comes from renewable sources. We provide our customers with guarantees of origin, certifying that the energy comes from renewables. On a group level, ENNA is one of the largest investors in Croatia in terms of our own production facilities. Our portfolio includes several large solar power plants in Croatia and the region. ENNA Group also invests in geothermal energy and is ready to continue developing a diverse production mix, whether it be wind farms, solar power plants, or geothermal energy. ENNA Group invests heavily in the sustainability of its operations. Another example from within our group, though not energy-related, is our logistics division which uses electric locomotives. Compared to diesel ones, they are more sustainable. When comparing train capacities to trucks, a single electric locomotive with its number of wagons can replace the same number of trucks. This represents a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.”

Regarding public interest in solar power, Bunjevac stated that interest continues to grow daily. He added that there are currently around 15,000 installed residential solar power systems in Croatia. Though there are always obstacles in the process from contracting to installation, they have now become routine and are resolved quickly.

“ENNA Next installs around 100 solar power systems for households each month. At the moment, we are the market leaders in this segment,” he added.

As of January 1, 2026, a new calculation method for this type of electricity will be introduced, which will be somewhat less favorable for end users. However, this is not expected to decrease interest in household solar systems. In 2025, customers rushed to contract and install solar systems to obtain confirmation of permanent operation and remain within the current calculation method.

When asked about future market development, Tomislav Bunjevac responded that the market will move toward small home batteries combined with energy management systems.

“I believe households will increasingly become truly independent from the grid,” he said.

The advantage of ENNA Next’s residential solar power systems is that the company offers a ten-year insurance policy to end customers.

“When it comes to climate change, it is definitely here and we can’t avoid it. Last year, Croatia experienced two major natural disasters, and there is no physical way to protect solar panels from them. What has proven to be the best form of protection is insurance, and in that context, we provide ten-year insurance with every system we sell to end customers. With insurance, customers can be protected from the effects of climate change and additional costs,” stated Tomislav Bunjevac.
