The Challenges and Opportunities of the Green Transition
Date publishedJune 3, 2026Zagreb, 3 June 2026 – ENNA Group took part in Greencajt, the largest regional sustainability festival, held in Zagreb from 1 to 3 June at HNK2 under the slogan “Good for Business, Good for People, Good for the Planet.”
Marin Cerjan, Director of ENNA Next, participated in the panel discussion “Building What’s Next: Between Balance Sheet Growth and the Value We Create”, where he spoke about the challenges and opportunities arising from the accelerated energy transition.
As he explained, installed solar capacity across Europe has increased several-fold over the past five years. While this represents a positive development for the energy transition, it has also transformed the dynamics of the electricity market. During periods when large numbers of solar power plants generate electricity simultaneously, excess supply enters the market, driving prices down and increasingly resulting in negative electricity prices. In such an environment, strategic energy management becomes essential for creating additional value.
“Flexibility, optimisation and smart energy management are becoming increasingly important – from timely energy storage in battery systems to active participation across different electricity markets. Through strategic energy management, companies can reduce risk, strengthen business resilience and unlock additional revenue streams. In this context, ENNA Next provides tailored solutions, helping our partners identify and capitalise on the market opportunities created by the new energy landscape. In this way, the green transition and sustainability become a competitive advantage and a driver of growth, rather than merely a regulatory obligation,” Cerjan emphasised.
The Greencajt 2026 programme featured more than 30 panel discussions, keynote sessions and interviews with local and international experts, business leaders and innovators, addressing key topics in sustainability, energy, technology, business and social development. The festival once again confirmed its position as one of the region’s leading platforms for the exchange of knowledge, experience and practical solutions for a more sustainable future.
