ENNA, one of the fastest growing companies in Croatia that develops renewable energy projects, and Rimac Energy, a leader in advanced energy storage systems, have entered into a strategic partnership that will advance the technology of production and storage of energy from renewable sources.
ENNA will exploit the potential for renewable energy generation, while Rimac Energy will be responsible for the storage and subsequent delivery of this energy through its state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), SineStack.
Both companies plan to launch pilot projects in 2024 that will test sustainable solutions which reduce carbon emissions in a real environment. Rimac Energy SineStack will be implemented in ENNA's on-grid and off-grid renewable energy projects.
The companies are committed to implementing additional projects after the pilot phase, including the implementation of up to 1 GW of energy storage systems. The cooperation also includes a commitment to install significant energy storage capacity across Europe, contributing to a more sustainable energy landscape for the continent.
This agreement represents a joint shift towards clean, renewable energy generation and storage solutions that will benefit communities, businesses and the planet. It also contributes to the fulfilment of European energy transition requirements and accelerating initiatives for sustainable energy throughout Europe, whereby Croatia serves as the initial platform for this transformation.
State-of-the-art energy storage technology
The partnership was announced at the largest technology fair in the United Kingdom, Birmingham Tech Week, where Rimac Energy also presented the innovation SineStack, its most advanced battery system for energy storage.
This cutting-edge product represents a huge step forward in energy storage technology. SineStack technology brings many advantages: an exceptional lifetime of up to 12,000 cycles, more than 92% battery efficiency, unique electrical architecture and software that extracts all energy from each cell, minimizing unavailable energy during operation. In addition, SineStack's integrated inverter allows users to add 790 kWh units without having to initially oversize the inverter.
The new partnership was commented on by Zoran Miliša, President of the Management Board of ENNA Opskrba:
"Rimac Technology is known for pushing the boundaries in the electric vehicle component industry, and now SineStack is moving forward to introduce the next generation of energy storage systems. We could not wish for a better partner to realize our shared ambitions for sustainability and pioneering development of energy storage solutions in key markets in South East Europe. ENNA is a next-generation business system that embodies the green transition, and this is the best example of how ENNA Opskrba, through the proposed partnership, aims to position renewable energy sources as a central part of Croatia's energy landscape with the help of the latest energy storage technology."
Wasim Sarwar Dilov, director of Rimac Energy, welcomed the collaboration with Enna.
We are proud to present SineStack, the first Rimac Energy flagship product for large-scale and industrial energy storage markets. SineStack is the result of many years of research and development in hardware and software. It touches the boundaries of what grid-connected batteries can offer to users. We are pleased to collaborate with ENNA to bring our first products to market and accelerate the implementation of clean, renewable, resilient, and affordable energy in Southern and Eastern Europe. We look forward to seeing SineStack in the hands of users across Europe and ramping up European production to meet demand."
